ABOUT

Julian began as a classically trained account planner in an ad agency in New York. After twenty years I am a versatile strategist with experience and expertise in most areas of brand strategy and marketing communications. 

He is used to assuming the role of brand guardian, leading strategy from new product development to communications strategy. He has extensive experience of working closely with the C-Suite on portfolio strategies, corporate repositioning and the brand dimensions of M&A and IPOs.  

He has worked in the US, UK, France and Hong Kong and bring a very high level of cultural insight and sensitivity to every situation.  

Until recently he was working extensively with Chinese clients, from entrepreneurs to state owned enterprises (SOEs), helping them to grow their business in their home market and to break into international markets. While, at the same time helping international brands break into China.  

As a marketing strategist, I believe it is my responsibility to have well-informed, current knowledge of the very best thinking about human identity and decision-making, existing and emergent communications channels and consumers’ expectations of brands. That said, the evolutionary drivers of human behaviour remain constant while only the human culture through which they find expression changes. 

Having worked in an agency delivering behaviour changing integrated campaigns for the last 10 years, I have become expert in the thinking and practice coming from the behavioural sciences. I have wide experience of building differentiated brands and creating meaningful consumer engagements in a variety of categories.
